  • 3B18P Fortalecimento da Segurança Alimentar no contexto do VIH/SIDA em Motaze - Sekeleka Motaze Fase IV (2007-2011)

Oikos act in the Magude district, Mozambique, since 2002. In a logic of sustainable and continuous development, OIKOS has implemented many projects in this area with the main aim of minimizing the effects felt by HIV / AIDS by strengthening the food security of poor rural households in the region.

Oikos aims, through this project, to integrate families affected by HIV / AIDS in a number of activities to increase its production capacity and yield. The project also offers workshops on awareness and education dedicated to people directly or indirectly affected by HIV / AIDS. Training in technical theater and cooperative games are examples of initiatives developed for this purpose.

  • 3B28 Sekeleka Motaze - Fase IV – Fortalecimento da Segurança alimentar no contexto de VIH/SIDA, Moçambique (2007-2011)

Oikos works in the locality of Motaze since September 2002, when it began the implementation of the project Sekeleka Motaze. This new project is the continuation and closure of the Sekeleka Motaze project, and is oriented to the realization of skills transfer and knowledge to families of patients with HIV / AIDS, so that they can provide the care provided to patients by activists in a personal and family, ensuring the improvement of the diet of patients (and the whole family) from own resources. It is intended that the families eliminate the dependency factor caused by the activities of home care that Oikos provided, closing the project without families being harmed.

In order to minimize these effects Oikos aims, through this project, to integrate families affected by HIV / AIDS in a number of activities to increase its production capacity and yield. One strategy is the creation of kitchen gardens and the creation of small livestock destined exclusively to improving the family diet.
